WHO WE ARE

Philip was born in Madras, yes Madras (not Chennai)! When he was 11, he moved to Singapore, and then to California when he was 23. Philip has worked in non-profit organizations in Asia and North America. He now works as a technology consultant. Philip is married to his wife Rebecca with whom he has two children. You can often find him playing guitar, tending to the garden, and visiting the local Costco. At times he is mistaken for a Costco employee!

Sunil Mathew was born and raised in Kuwait. During Operation Desert Storm in 1990, he moved to Kerala and continued his education. He later relocated to Bangalore and completed his Masters Degree in Microbiology. He returned to Kuwait in 2001 and served with the Ministry of Health. In 2006, he moved to the US. Sunil is happily married to his wife Bindu. They have a twin boy and girl. He continues to work as a Microbiologist, and currently manages Quality Control operations for a dietary supplement manufacturer in Los Angeles. During his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Born and raised in Chennai, India, Andrew Hillary moved to upstate New York in 2015. Before moving to the States, he worked for a global humanitarian organization. He is happily married to his wife, Abigail, and together they have two beautiful daughters, with two more boys on the way. Andrew works as a cybersecurity professional for a semiconductor manufacturing firm. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing with his children, traveling, singing, and playing the guitar.

Singapore-born California transplant, Rebecca Malcolm is always in search for some good durian and laksa. When she’s not discovering a new hobby, craft, or recipe, Rebecca earns her keep as a director of product development and marketing at an educational publisher in California. With over twenty years in the publishing industry, Rebecca also sits on the board of the Partners in Education at Cal Poly Pomona. Rebecca is married to her high school sweetheart Philip Malcolm and has two adult children; Isaiah and Hannah. As a family, they love to hike in the local mountains and trails, play music, and decorate for Christmas.

Hannah Malcolm, a California native, is pursuing a Biology degree with an emphasis in Microbiology at CalPoly Pomona, CA. She is always up to doing things spontaneously whether it be in the outdoors or trying weird foods. Her hobbies are far too many to list here, but we know she has many. Hannah loves dogs, any dog, or cat for that matter. A fun fact about Hannah: she had to count parrots in a roost in a downtown city building! This would probably be one of her weirdest achievements.

Isaiah was born and raised in southern California. He studied mechanical engineering and now works as an engineer in a filtration manufacturing company where he handles product design, manufacturing, tooling, and R&D. Isaiah enjoys playing the violin, hiking, and tinkering with his mom's household appliances. Isaiah hates taking pictures and eating vegetables!
