Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone. — Charles M. Schulz
It was the most wonderful time of the year on 21st December 2024. The atmosphere was alive with laughter, children dancing, and everyone joyfully celebrating Christmas. The Yenadis at the Naidupet Dumping Yard marked the occasion with festivities and celebration. Society for Integrated Rural Development (SFIRD) and Restoration Humanity (RH) distributed new clothes and special Christmas food. The kids enjoyed playing games and even had a time of dancing as the air was filled with fun, laughter and the joy of Christmas!
▼ Don't miss out seeing the kids dancing in the videos below!
▼ The children received new clothes for Christmas which they immediately changed into for the festivities of the evening.

▲ The Dumping Yard was lit up by SFIRD to bring in the spirit of the Christmas season.

▲ There was "Christmas Cake" that was given to the Yenadi families.

▲ Candles were lit to end the night's celebration as they heard of the meaning and importance of Christmas.
This Christmas celebration was also attended by Mr. Prasad, one of the mangers of Jindal Urban Waste Management, where the Yenadis work.
After a year of challenging situations – heat wave/drought, losing their homes/shelter due to the monsoons and floods, and not forgetting the skin infections that affected the kids – this celebration was a much needed way to end the year.
None of this would have been possible if not for the staff of Society for Integrated Rural Development (SFIRD) under the leadership and guidance of Ravi Pradeep. Their tireless commitment, compassion, patience and most of all the ability to see the end goal in the the most adverse situations and conditions is greatly admirable and appreciable. So from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone at SFIRD — thank you!
Throughout history, the human race has faced the uncertainty of the future with curiosity and optimism, with the belief that problems can be solved and differences resolved. It is a type of confidence and resilience that it is fragile, yet powerful, and cannot be silenced.
As we look forward and plan for the year ahead, we invite you to join us on this journey to bring change and restoration to the lives of the Yenadis. Together, we will strive to help our fellow human beings, giving access to education, liberating girls from child marriage, and fulfilling dreams that were never thought possible.
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas! May you always be surrounded by the peace, the love and the joy of Christmas this season.
Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart. — Washington Irving
