Flood Warnings in Our Target Areas

The flooding situation in island villages and settlements along the Krishna River is as follows: At 1:00AM on September 30, 2025 the Krishna River overflowed due to increased rainfall which inundated low-lying areas. The flooding greatly impacted commercial crops and brick kiln villages.

Dr. Vinod Kumar, the District Collector from Bapatla, accompanied by the Rural Divisional Office (RDO) revenue team and the local police, visited the affected areas to evaluate the damage.

Healthcare workers from local Primary Healthcare Centers and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers led by doctors visited and discussed with the residents inquiring about their living conditions and plans for evacuation and shelter.

Lifeboats were supplied and shelters were designated to relocate vulnerable families from the island villages.

SFIRD's relief efforts among flood victims were recognized and commended by the rural local self-governing bodies' members.

The SFIRD team further engaged with various groups visiting the island villages and interacted with the villagers in the flood-affected areas.

Restoration Humanity will consult with SFIRD to see how we can help support relief efforts.

Please keep the people along the river banks in prayer and in your hearts as every year flooding from the Krishna River ravages their meager lifestyle—they rebuild only to lose everything again the following year. We hope that one day we will be able to eradicate these problems and give everyday life a chance to thrive, and to just live.
